A picture of yourself today and 3 things good things that have happened in the last 30 days.
This is me. Today. :) The pan book happened to be next to me... I read it last night before I went to bed. And I have hat hair... hence the hat. To hid my hat hair. Oh the joys of culinary school.
3 good things that have happened in the past 30 days:
1. I got to see the Holloways, Nicole, Nate, Stephanie, and Cami Jo.
2. I got a letter from Dallon. :D 8D :) :D 8D :)
3. I got to have a chat with Katie Matheson via my cellular telephone and that hasn't happened in WAY too long. So it was really good. :)
There you go. It's over. Fine. El fin. Finished.
Okay. So about my life. Today I only had one class... but I'm still exhausted nevertheless. Sometimes cooking just takes a lot out of a person. It was southern dishes today. Which means. CARBS. yes. Haha. Bread pudding (my daddy will like that... and also the fact that I'm making a different version on friday so I can see what's the absolute best!), red beans and rice, bisque, ettouffee (I don't know if I spelled that right). Yum. It was all good. :) Today I learned how to... umm... I don't know what it's called... shell? maybe? a crawfish... It was kind of creepy at first... because they stare at you with their beady little eyes while you rip their tails off their bodies. :( It sounds a bit inhumane. But they're already dead. And I didn't kill them. It was just kind of cool. Gross. But cool. The group next to me was all pastry students... they were all grossed out. Briana (she's way cool) got up the courage to do it though. I helped her out so she didn't have to do it all alone. My group was awesome! Rick and Guy are fearless, and Rick knows a lot about southern food. That was helpful... because I really know nothing. And Guy is good at soups and totally dommed our Bisque. I... feel like I didn't really contribute much today. :( But I made the bread pudding and prepped a lot of stuff. So I know I did help. Just some days you don't seem to have a dish you were in charge of. Eh. But it was fun. :)
Clean up was even kind of fun today, Briana, Ben, and I were sent to the storage room to put all the ingredients back... and then we helped with dishes. Then after class we stood around talking. They're pretty sweet. We all kind of get each other's humor and sarcasm... so we make a pretty good team. It would be way sweet if we could be in a group together. We would DOMINATE! (Though it's not a competition... even though some people definitely act like it is...)
Well, I have to go register for next quarter with Chef Kraus so I've got to skeedaddle (Is that how you spell that?! I've never actually written it out. hmmm... oh well).
Ciao. Adios. Aloha.
