I don't know about you but...

I don't know about you but...

1. I don't really enjoy being harassed by crazy people. (Rant to follow later)
2. I'm really excited to go home for Christmas.
3. I actually understand what a white elephant gift is supposed to be. :)
4. I passed my finals (that I've had thus far)
5. I'm procrastinating something I should be doing right now.

1. Okay... so remember my post like TWO MONTHS AGO... or whenever it was that I told you about how I bumped someone's car in the parking lot? Well.. she won't stop harassing me. I gave her my information and what not (I didn't know who she was to talk to her personally). Well I found out later that she's this crazy lady. I'm not just saying this because she keeps calling me over and over and over and over again to yell at me, but because I know who she is now and... I really think she's got a few loose screws. Apparently she's been calling and leaving messages for my insurance agent (poor thing) that have (to put it lightly) not been very kind. If they're anything like the messages that I've been getting I really feel bad for my insurance agent. So this crazy lady keeps calling me and saying that she waited for weeks for my insurance company to call her back. BUT SHE CHANGED HER NUMBER! How does she expect them to call her... when she changed her number? My insurance company has been trying to get ahold of her, but with the number change how could they? Ugh. And she keeps calling me and telling me all these sob stories (that I don't really believe... she doesn't have a very good record of telling the truth) and yelling at me to do something. I gave her the information. I gave her the number to call. I gave her the claim number. There isn't anything else I have to do. But she won't stop calling/texting me and leaving me rude messages. We talked to my agent again today and she said she FINALLY got ahold of her after my dad told her the new number. So hopefully she stops harassing me. If not... be aware that I WILL be changing my number. I will let you know if that happens.

2. I can't wait to get out of here! I'm so excited for Friday to come! I will be done with finals. I'll start moving in to my new place! I'll get to play with Katie (probably not Friday... but sometime that weekend). We're having a snuggie party where we will sit in our snuggies and watch movies and eat junk food! Maybe we can even play super smash brothers in our snuggies! How fun would that be? (We're kind of obsessed with super smash brothers wii... just a little *okay a lot!*)
THEN HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS! First on the list is the PETER PAN CAST REUNION! WAHOOO! I'm so excited to hang out at Perkins with a first rate cast, then head over to my house to watch pan and play IMPROV!!!!!!! I still think we should play "Peter Pan Lines" (a peter pan themed version of movie lines). But maybe this is just me! I'm so excited to get to go home though. See people my age (what a change from this place!) We're going party it up like we're in some obscure 80s movie... and have as many adventures as an episode of Chips... Someone stop me before I start making too many references to things most people reading this have probably never heard of! Moooving on!

3. White Elephant Party! Yesterday for Family Home Evening, my singles ward had a white elephant gift exchange. People brought like... actual stuff! Boxes of chocolate, hand soups/other good smelling things, and other NICE things. There were only about 3 of us who brought something "white elephant" worthy. One of those things was a pair of child-sized, used, mis-matching slippers. One was a "home-made snowman kit" with a top hat, and 2 sticks. Mine was a box of rocks and an autographed picture of my face. It was just weird to me that people actually brought good... expensive-ish stuff! Crazy. The girl who got my picture... didn't even think it was funny. :( She didn't even crack a smile. Bummer. I was hoping someone fun would get it. But no! Laaame.

4. Just that. I passed all my finals. :) GO ME.

5. I have a 5 page paper due tomorrow. I have less than 2 pages. I REALLY need to work on it. But I have absolutely no desire. I am tired, grumpy, and have been working my butt off for the past 2 weeks to finish everything for this week. Blech.

WHALE... that's all for now. Ciao. Adios. Aloha. Bye.

I tried to be like Grace Kelly...

But all of her looks were too sad...

So I have a fewww things to say in this little blog post. So I'm going to tell you a list so you can skip over the boring ones. :)

1. Whiffenpoofs 'n' Whatnots
2. Ode to Risotto
3. Messiah Sing-In
4. Question for Quartney
5. Escuela and cookin' mmm.
6. I'm gonna go off on a little tangent that I got from a circle... because that's where you get tangents. :)
7. What's the opposite of an ode? to Upcoming Finals.
8. Any other random crap I decide to talk about with then come out right in this section. :0

Ahem. Anyway. Here we go. :)

1. Whiffenpoofs 'n' Whatnots
So I've been watching the Sing Off. It's so great. I absolutely love it. So natural compared to all the other singing competitions around these days. For those of you who don't know, it's an a cappella singing competition. And I LOVE it. Specifically, I love the Whiffenpoofs. The should NOT have gone home so soon! I bought their songs on itunes... and I love them. I also like... street corner symphony. and I didn't like them at first, but they've started to grow on me... the umm... what are they called? The group with all the music teachers... Groove for thought. I LOVED "Cooler than me." It's pretty much my new obsession.
I need some MAJOR Choir back in my life. It's killing me to not sing everyday. :( Blech. But seriously... when the Whiffenpoofs came out to sing... they looked so dashing that I was instantly in love. And then they opened their mouths... It was just not like any of the other groups... there was none of that boom-sha-whatever that I don't know how to do. It was just SINGING. Beautiful. And that's really all I have to say about that.

Moving on!
2.I love risotto. It's just so freaking tasty. This is my ode to Risotto:
Oh, Arborio
Rice of the Gods
I love to cook Arborio
We're like peas in pods
When you turn into risotto
you taste so great
Creamy risotto
we came together by fate.
I want to cook you and eat you
each and every day
and I would too
If I could get away
with that.

And that's my ode to Risotto. :) I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed my dinner tonight (that consisted of a baked chicken breast with a mornay sauce on top with risotto and glazed carrots) YUMMM. :)

3. Messiah Sing-Ins
I love Christmas. I love the Christmas season. Everything is beautiful. Everyone is nice. And tis the season for Messiah Sing-Ins. As much as I don't really like living in the Salt Lake Valley, I will give it props for the mass amount of Messiah Sing-Ins they hold. I've been to 3 already and might hit up at least one more. :) Woo! I love taking my score and going to sing it. Handel was definitely inspired to write this wonderful work.
The first one I went to was in the Alpine Tabernacle in American Fork. So Amazing. It was a great place to sing! While I didn't really like most of the soloists for this performance (way too much vibrato and awful vowel shapes) it was fun anyway!
Singing the Messiah always makes me think of Mrs Blackburn. Not just from choir in high school... but clear back in the day when she was our ward choir director... and made me, valerie, and Beth sing those recitatives... you know the ones "And lo an angel of the lord came upon them..." that little group... in front of our whole ward. I'd never done choir before and I totally messed up in front of the whole ward! Ah! (That's why it took me so long to get into choir in school by the way... scarred me for a while). But now I've had some more experience... and my nerves don't usually get in the way. HUZZAH.
But anyway. Messiah Sing-ins. Are great. I love them. :)

4. Question for Quartney.
This is random. But. I have a question for you Quartney. Can I be a bridesmaid in your wedding? Whenever it is that you end up getting married. :) That is all.
P.S. I LOVEEE YOU!

5. School. is CRAZY right now. Finals start... TOMORROW. Yes, my finals start on a friday. Weird. I know. But it's my practical... my baking final. And next friday is our written final in baking. This is my crazy homework/finals schedule: Tomorrow is my baking practical where I will be making 1. Chocolate cream pie. 2. Soft dinner rolls. 3. Apple Cinnamon cookies and 4. Banana nut muffins.
Monday: First is my American regional practical where we are having a black box challenge. That means we don't know our ingredients. It has to be Hawaiian themed though. We need to make an appetizer, entree with a starch and a vegetable, and a dessert. That's 5 different things ladies and gents. AH! Also that day, I have a final purchasing project and purchasing portfolio due. Then we have our purchasing final.
Tuesday: American regional written final. Kitchen cleaning. And GIGANTIC portfolio is due.
Wednesday: English portfolio is due. 2 page book report. 5 page research paper.
THURSDAY: Packing for my move. :) No finals though!
Friday: Written baking final. Kitchen Cleaning. MOVING DAY. And the start of Christmas break! WOOHOO! :)

6. I changed my mind about the tangent. This is getting too long. ...maybe next time.

7. Opposite of ode to upcoming finals.

Finals I hate you.
so does everyone else.
It's kind of like... pooh.
that we even have to take you

By the time you roll around
No one likes school anymore
complaining is an oft head sound
and everyone wants to be homeward bound

I'm not much of a poet
and I think we all know it
but with finals coming up
i really can't help it.

They really suck
and it's just my luck
that i'm still in school
and teachers don't give a... very helpful study guide.

Gotchya didn't I? :)

I'm a regular Dr. Seuss. Except I'm not a doctor... nor is my name Seuss... but then again, I guess his wasn't either...

8. RANDOM.
I don't know how to pop my ears. I never have. I'm broken. I can never learn to scuba dive because I can't pop them. This upsets me. Katie Matheson can scuba dive. I think it would be really neat. But I can't. Because I can't pop my ears. I'm broken. :(

Well. That's all. This was long. GROSS. Sorry!

CIAO! ADIOS! ALOHA!

It's a beautiful night we're looking for something dumb to do...

Hey Baby I think I wanna marry you!

No. I'm not getting married. Let's just establish that right now before anyone gets confused. That's the song I'm listening to right now on my ipod. :)

And. Yesterday was a beautiful night. And I had something dumb to do. haha. But I don't want to marry anyone I was with (no offense Benjamin Rufino or Briana... I love you. Just not in that way).

So what happened yesterday? Well.. I thought it was just going to be another boring, homework-filled Thursday. Blech. But. It wasn't. :) YAY! Well I made plans with Benjamin to have a study party in the library. Woot. Well.. I got there and BRIANA was there too! WAHOO! That means it's a PARTY!! I love those two. They're pretty much my only friends here. I'm going to be sad to leave them. :( But I will come back and party. woop woop! Anyway...

The three of us then sat in the library pretending to work on our homework (though Briana and I did actually do a little bit.) Then Briana got hungry so we all headed out to In-N-Out for some grub. ...Even though we're culinary students that doesn't mean we don't like greasy fast food too. :) After debating whether or not Briana was going to steal the wet floor cone (she didn't) we went back to the school because Briana had class.

So Benjamin and I went back to the library... where we talked more than worked. But that's okay. It was fun. We talked about... ITALY! And FOOD. And organic food. And middle names. (Which is why he now gets called Benjamin Rufino... because that's probably the coolest name I've ever heard). And Catholicism and Mormonism. And missionaries. And the SUPER CRAZY Mormon people... that are just so great. :) And Italy! (Yes I know I already said that... But we were both excited to talk to people who have actually left the country. That's hard to come by in Utah!) Then we talked about how all the "normal" people at school have/had crazy roommates.

Then Briana came back. And we went to have an adventure at WALMART!! :) A plethora of things happened that were highly entertaining. I shall now elaborate.
1. We looked at fish.
2. Benjamin got really excited about humidifiers.
3. Briana and I hid from Ben and I got stuck in a bathrobe hanging on a rack. :S oops.
4. We set all these creepy baby toys to go off about 5 seconds from each other... and their singing was all out of tune.
5. We played bop-it... on 3 different games... that get's confusing when they're all going at the same time.
6. I found a magic wand. a TINKERBELL magic wand!
7. I skipped up to random people and waved my magic wand at them. And pushed the "magic sounds" button! I got some weird looks.
8. We played in the 5 dollar movie bin... to see who could pull out the worst movie out of the three. This seriously entertained us for almost an hour.
9. Briana bought Oreos! :)
10. I left my tinkerbell wand (much to my dismay) with the mayonnaise... because the place it was supposed to go was oh so far away!
11. Briana threw oreos at me and Benjamin.
12. I stuck an oreo to Benjamin's car.
13. He freaked out. And threw a fit.
14. I threw oreos at Benjamin.
15. Briana and I both stuck oreos on Benjamin's car.
16. He didn't notice and drove away with oreos still attached. YAY. :)

And that brings us to today.
Baking bright and early at 7 am!
Briana and I are the BEST team. Today in class we made:
1. Bagels
2. Lemon Meringue Pie
3. Gingerbread Cookies
4. Orange Pumpkin Muffins
5. Amish Bread
Everything we made today turned out GREAT! This is a great feat for me in baking. :) Chef Allie said our bagels were the best in class. :) Hooray! I made a perfect bagel that she used as the example to show the class. :) HUZZAH!
I made Amish bread... with no mixer. And it turned out PERFECT. Chef Allie thought it would be tough and gross because we didn't have a mixer... but it was AMAZING. :) I got to bring home half a loaf. YES! I'm going to eat it ALL.
Our orange pumpkin muffins were the best in class too! Chef Allie LOVED them! :) Woohoo!
Our final is next week though... I'm scared!!! ...Not really. But yeah. Woo. Briana and I are in the same group though so it will be FUN. :) Heehee! Go Chef Allie forgetting to mix up the secret envelopes.

Well that's my life. Oh! Tonight I'm going to the first of FOUR Messiah Sing-Ins that I'm attending this December. This one's in American Fork. I'm super pumped! Woohoo!
AND MOVING IN 14 DAYS!! :) :D I get to be Nicole and Whitney's neighbor again! How exciting!!!

Okay well really that's it. CIAO!

I Got a Pocketful of... Sunshine? No. A Wocket in my Pocket? No... Not that either

I don't really have anything in my pocket... not even my phone or my keys... nothing.
I'm really really ridiculously (good looking) FRUSTRATED. Here's the story:
I found a girl who wanted to take over my contract for my apartment. YAY! Then... she backed out. BOO! Now I'm stuck trying to find ANOTHER replacement... in 16 days. Yes, I am supposed to move out in 16 days. So... if you happen to know anyone who is moving to the Salt Lake Valley and wants to live with some great LDS girls. Send them my way por favor. :) I'm really stressing right now... stupid being sick, finals coming up, crazy ridiculous projects due, countless papers, new kitchen rules that made things a bazillion times harder. Life's just been rough this week.
Christmas break, why do you have to come so slowly?!

Some good news though... :)
1. I bought a snuggie. And it is the best purchase I have ever made. That's right. I joined the revolution.
2. Katie Matheson and I have already planned a snuggie movie night. Complete with Movies! Popcorn! Hot chocolate! Hot dogs! and A BUCKET OF FUN! And a Pocketful of Sunshine!
3. Only 16 more days then I am DONE with the stupid ART INSTITUTE!
4. After those 16 days it will be CHRISTMAS BREAK
5. There is another PETER PAN REUNION being planned for this holiday season. WOO-to-the-freaking-HOO-ray! :)
